REAL Life was so much easier in the 60s . . . . .

Long road trips were fun because Moms and Dads were happy in
station wagons with no air conditioning and kids never whined.

 Nobody wanted to be skinny.

Everybody's dad smelled like Old Spice . . . . .

. . . . and most of them smoked, too.

Schools weren't Politically Correct.

Women dressed up and wore hats just to go out to lunch.

As soon as Dad got home from a hard day at the office he went
upstairs, changed clothes, then Mom made his favorite cocktail.
(Meds hadn't yet been invented for The Crazy Eyes.)

Saturdays meant a trip to the beauty salon.  Ah, the smell of perm solution.
Ladies seemed to wear a lot of white high heels

and most bosses were good looking.

That time of the month made you gay and carefree.

In fact, lots of stuff made you gay.

Crazy neighbor Mrs. Blutch made every day a holiday.

New technology, especially this precursor to the
microwave, was right out of Space Family Robinson.

Mrs. Paul's made grocery shopping a breeze.

White appliances were out and color was in.

Salesmen sold encyclopedias door-to-door.

Suddenly, wearing glasses was glamorous.

Uncle Vinnie said he wanted to fly Pacific Southwest
Airlines because they had the best looking stewardesses.

Mom wouldn't let us have junk food but
we did eat a lot of butter sandwiches.

Bowling alleys had handsome waiters and the 'easy' girls weren't hard to spot.

Yes, the 60s were an Ad Man's dream.

  3. Thanks for the trip through my childhood:
--I was at Disneyland the year it opened and remember the house of the future
--I vividly remember my friends in the PSA uniforms
--Girdles, oh were they horrible - heaven forbid that our bodies should jiggle!
