Before and After Thursday

Continuing with our series on decor for babies and children, today we're going to start
with a few Before and After Projects:

Before: (sorry I don't have the first photo of the plain, bare room!)

                          During:

            Fabulous After:
What little boys wouldn't love to sleep in such a cool room?

This next project used an old tv cabinet and
two pressboard computer desk cabinets:

Such a darling play kitchen.

Another amazing Before & After for the little cook in your family:

Who would have thought that a particle board cabinet
and an old end table could be completely transformed
into a darling kitchenette?
How precious is this?  The stove 'eyes' are cds!

For this project the parents started with a 'blank canvas' guest room:

The weathered wood paneling adds an unexpected architectural element.

The room below was plain and boring . . . . .
and ended with dramatic, beautiful results
thanks to the black paint under the chair rail:

Switching gears, let's take a look at a couple of nursery craft projects.
We'll start with a mini tutorial for turning teacups into a darling lamp:

Paint and imagination can turn a child's table
and chairs into something special.

Before:

After:
Using chalk board paint allows little ones to
draw on the table and not get into trouble!

Yes, it's possible to turn an old suitcase into a darling nursery accessory:
1.  Clean and dry the suitcase

                      2.  Apply Kilz to seal the exterior

                               3. pick up your paint brush and turn your imagination loose:

The last step is to add a sealing treatment to prevent chipping and peeling.
What a bright addition to any nursery.

Tomorrow:  celebrity nurseries!
